MANDATE MEDIAdigital strategy for people changing the world

And then, the elected officials started reading blogs

A recent comment by Commissioner Randy Leonard on Jack Bogdanski's blog, BoJack, recently reminded me that one effect of the blogging revolution is that ordinary folks (though Jack is far from ordinary) who write interesting and witty commentary can pick up readership from the folks wandering the halls of government.

A national example, of course, comes from Washington DC where a woman calling herself Washingtonienne (now outed as Jessica Cutler) was keeping an anonymous blog about, well, her habit of sleeping her way through the Capital. Hyped by another blog, Wonkette, her bosses figured out who she was apparently in a matter of minutes - and she lost her job.
