More than just a website design shop, Mandate Media helps political campaigns and nonprofit organizations use technology to motivate their supporters -- to create dialogue, take action, and make a meaningful contribution to the cause. Mandate Media's core competency lives at the intersection between political strategy and internet technology.
Kari Chisholm, president of Mandate Media, is an experienced campaign staffer, media strategist, political consultant, and interactive web developer. Since 2001, Kari has worked with nearly 300 campaigns in over two dozen states.
Before Mandate Media, Kari was on the staff of Darlene Hooley's first Congressional campaign in 1996 and managed David Bragdon's campaign for the Metro Council in 1998. Kari was also the volunteer board chair of X-PAC, a 1000-member nonpartisan 501(c)3 nonprofit that motivated young people to get involved in politics in Oregon. During a hiatus from politics, Kari was the creative director for new media at Lewis & Clark College. He became a nationally-recognized speaker -- teaching hundreds of higher-ed professionals how to strategically use new media to communicate with a new generation of college-bound students.
Finally, Kari Chisholm is considered one of the nation's leading experts on the voting procedures for college football's Heisman Trophy -- accurately predicting the winner twelve years in a row.
Kari graduated in political science from the University of Southern California in 1995. He is a member of the National Writers Union - UAW Local 1981/AFL-CIO.
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Carrie Wynkoop is a founding partner and our CFO. She makes sure all things financial run smoothly and focuses on long-term planning and strategy at Mandate Media.

Vice President, Design + Technology
Meaghan Lamarre is an experienced strategist and technologist and is the first line of defense for Mandate Media's clients. Whether it's help sending an email to supporters or fixing a typo on a website, Meaghan is the go-to gal. Meaghan also coordinates the operations of Mandate Media's Washington, D.C. office.
Prior to joining Mandate Media, Meaghan was a Strategy Architect at EchoDitto, an internet communications firm founded by members of Howard Dean's internet team. Senior Strategist, Campaigns + Advocacy
Sara Kiesler leads the way for our campaign and nonprofit clients, developing strategies and producing content that maximizes engagement and fundraising. Originally from Indiana, she comes to us from Seattle, where she managed digital for Fuse Washington, Planned Parenthood Votes NW, and more.
A former journalist in Florida and Washington, she’s exactly the kind of perfectionist-on-deadline that we love. When she’s not obsessing over women’s basketball, you can find her eating vegan pizza, lifting weights, or spending too much time on Twitter.
Strategist, Campaigns + Advocacy
Megen Ickler is a writer and strategist supporting our clients' digital programs. Prior to joining our team, she helped craft communications for State Senator Elizabeth Steiner Hayward, especially on tough stuff like tobacco prevention and immunizations. Megen has also managed a field campaign to successfully elect a pro-environment majority in Oregon. Megen has also organized labor unions and women’s advocacy organizations.
Strategist, Data + Analytics
As our data scientist, Tammy Lee crunches numbers and eats big data sets for lunch. She's got a passion for preserving and conserving the environment that has taken her from work with public agencies, to a Ph. D. in environmental and natural resource sciences -- and now the political world. She calls it "data analysis and modeling", but we call it "studying the past and predicting the future". When she's not playing with numbers, she patiently waits for enough snow to cross-country ski.
Strategist, Campaigns + Advertising
Nick Wirth is a communications strategist supporting advertising and email programs for our clients. Nick's first tour of duty with Mandate Media was in 2007, and he's come back again and again in various roles. Nick has managed communications programs for nonprofits, universities, and international businesses; and worked on US House and Senate campaigns. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lewis & Clark College and a master’s degree with distinction in urban planning from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. In his free time he manages and plays for Portland’s Australian rules football club.
Director of Canine Relations
Potter joined Mandate Media in 2003. The most popular member of our team, Potter is responsible for maintaining office morale and ensuring that playtime happens at least every four hours.
While he often sleeps through staff meetings, he regularly assists our clients with strategic outreach to the local canine community - a critical voter block!
