Astroturf DFA Chapters Harvesting Names?

Over at JoeTrippi.com, Dan Walter passes along this warning:

Some people are sending out polls in an attempt to harvest e-mail addresses for fundraising attempts. They set up a supposedly internet based, DFA chapter that has never held a meeting and are claiming to be DFA endorsed, although several DFA chapters (legitimate, actual chapters, that actually hold
meetings) have never been advised of these polls. ...

Any idiot with an internet account can sign up. No screening. No questions, such as “Are you really a Republican mole?” But you can set up your own chapter, on the web, with no credentials, no members, no endorsements. No actual proof that you actually exist!
