Schedule: Full-time, with occasional evenings and weekends as clients require

Compensation: $32,000 - $38,000 a year (DOE). Excellent benefits.

Who we are:

Mandate Media is a progressive political consulting firm specializing in digital strategy and services. We help Democratic political candidates and progressive advocacy groups integrate their strategy with technology. We design and build websites. We provide interactive campaign tools. We advise on and manage our clients’ social media and digital advertising. We help our clients build big email lists, engage those audiences in activism, and raise lots of money. We do political research and manage databases. Our clients are changing the world, and we help them win.

What's the job?

We are looking for a highly capable and detail-oriented production and social media associate to provide technical execution of client work in collaboration with our team.

This is a new position for us and a chance for the right candidate to come in and make a big difference to our work. Our team is looking for someone who is able to manage competing demands and lots of details in a challenging (but very rewarding) environment. You will be an integral part of our team and will work with our staff to provide excellent customer service to our clients.

This is a full-time job in a fast-growing, well-respected firm. Since 2001, we’ve worked for nearly 300 clients in 31 states, and you’ll help us grow. Every day will be different, and you'll be using your skills to help change the world and build the resistance to Donald Trump.

Specifically, your job will include:

  • Work with our strategists to produce our clients’ broadcast emails, perform quality control checks, and send them out.
  • Develop and post client social media content.
  • Load content on client websites.
  • Develop graphics for client websites, social media, and digital advertising.
  • Assist with data management and workflow tasks (not manual data entry!)
  • Test petition forms and assist with landing page creation.
  • Conduct social media research for clients and report findings to strategists.
  • Providing backup help with client work during busy time periods.

Skills required:

As the last step in our publishing workflow, the ideal candidate will be VERY detail-oriented and comfortable with the responsibility of pushing “send” on emails to hundreds of thousands of people at a time. You’ll be fluent in using Facebook, and comfortable with Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Some experience with Photoshop or other photo editing tools is required. Experience in HTML, CMS or email broadcasting tools is a plus but not required. Tasks will come fast and furious, so adaptability and time-management skills are critical.

What you'll learn:

You’ll have an opportunity to be right in the middle of the action for a digital shop that works on dozens of campaigns across the country. You’ll learn how to use digital strategies and tactics to engage audiences, raise money, and win campaigns. You’ll spend your days at the intersection of art and science, content and data, technology and design. You’ll get an opportunity to fill in as a writer and a junior strategist when we’re busy, setting the stage for the next step in your political career.

Who are we looking for?

The right person will have at least two years of professional experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. He or she will be an organizational mastermind able to handle a vast array of details, a knack for managing tough personalities and competing demands, and be comfortable working in a team environment. As always, we’re looking for someone who is smart, fast, flexible, creative, and happy.

We're looking for a self-starter who wants to expand their skills, take on tough challenges, and make this job their own. Political experience isn’t required, but a passion for making the world a better place is a must.

Compensation:

$32,000 to $38,000 depending on experience. Generous health insurance benefits, including dental, vision, and alternative care. Generous paid-time-off package and 401K plan.
